Before and after

The price was always in your head. This puts it on a map.

The old way

The phone rings. Someone reaches for the pad.

They work out roughly how far the site is, remember what the last customer out that way paid, add the material on and give a number.

Four minutes if they know what they are doing. Longer if they do not, and different again if it is someone else on the desk tomorrow.

A price from memory drifts. Quote high and the job goes somewhere else. Quote low and you find out when the invoice does not cover the diesel.

So the pricing lives in two or three people's heads. Which is fine until August.

The way it works with MilesPricing

  1. Set your origins

Every quarry, depot and yard you deliver from.

  2. Paint the map

Fixed prices on the squares you know. Journey time bands for everywhere else.

  3. Price in one click

Postcode in, delivered price out, logged against the enquiry.

And we do the setting up. Send us your rate sheet and your quarry list. Your products, origins and bands will be loaded before we speak. You will not be typing anything in.

Delivery pricing

Journey time, not crow flies

Forty minutes up the A11 is not forty minutes through Cambridge at eight in the morning. Bands follow estimated HGV journey time, so the price reflects the run rather than the distance.

Where you know better than the model does, paint the square by hand. A regular customer on an agreed rate, a bad access road, a bridge you cannot get an artic under. Painted squares always win.

Private pages

Let your customers price their own loads at ten at night

A groundworker pricing a job on Sunday evening is not waiting until Monday for a number. He is ringing somebody else.

Give him a page with your logo on it, a PIN and his prices. What comes back arrives already priced, against the product and the page it came from.

Different customers get different pages, so a trade account and a one off are not looking at the same numbers. Nothing to install at their end, and nothing published that you have not chosen to publish.

Catalogue

Every product knows where it comes from

Each line carries its supply quarry, its base price and the bands behind it. Change a band once and every page using it updates.

Per tonne or per load. Tonnage bands, fresh air, haulage only lines for the jobs where you are moving somebody else's material. Archive a product and it stays recoverable rather than disappearing.

And the housekeeping

Everything logged

Each request recorded against the page and product it came from.

Users and access

Who can see prices, who can change them, who can only read.

Archive and recover

Nothing is deleted outright. Archived products come back.

One place to change a price

Update the band, not eleven pages. The old rate stops immediately.

What it is worth

We are not going to tell you what bad pricing is costing you, because we do not know your rates. You do.

Think of the last job you wish you had priced higher. Then the one before that. That is the number this has to beat, and it is usually bigger than the time saved on the phone.

Who it is for

Built for the trades that price by the load

Aggregates and quarry sales

The delivered price is material plus haulage, and the haulage moves constantly.

Tipper and muckaway

Priced per load, per journey time, and the return leg matters.

Bulk and artic haulage

Bigger radius, fewer origins, tonnage bands that need to hold.

Builders merchants and civils

Reselling delivered material, and needing a price to quote on without ringing three suppliers.

More on each of these

Fifteen minutes, on your patch

Send us your rate sheet and your quarry list. We load it before the call, so you are looking at your own prices on your own patch rather than at a demo account. You will not be typing anything in.
